Master Michael Aronson MBA has studied the Chinese martial arts for 47 years, commencing his practice in 1977. Before that he wrestled in high school from 1972-1976, winning two Texas state championships.

His chief areas of concentration are: Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu under Grandmaster Yee Shum Leung of New York City, Northern Shaolin Family Style Nine Birds under a top Grandmaster in Dallas, Tx., and Northern Long Fist/Southern White Crane/Yang Style Tai Chi under Grandmaster Jeff Bolt (Senior Student of Dr. Yang Jwing Ming of Boston and California) in Houston, Tx. He has also studied Filipino escrima and espada y espada knife defense/attack. His specific area of expertise, which he has honed over many years, is his ability to execute and employ the Chinese art of Chin Na, or seizing, grabbing, and controlling the opponent in real life situations.  These techniques, along with specific defenses against knives, guns, and other weapons of opportunity, allow all whom learn them to feel secure and confident in defending themselves and their loved ones. He has adapted this knowledge to make applicable in situational self-defense and women’s self -defense situations, from walking to the garage late at night to facing an attacker with a knife. He also teaches awareness and situational defense courses.

Among his credentials:

• Competed for over 20 years from 1980 to 2000, including full contact, locally and nationally
• Appointed a Chief Judge and Referee at multiple events, overseeing both the forms and fighting in major tournaments all over the United States
• Participated and let Master demonstrations at tournaments, given demonstrations at multiple locations locally and statewide, including hand to hand and self -defense demonstrations against empty hand, weapons, and situational awareness
• Is well known locally, statewide, and nationally for his skill and ability to teach others, especially small stature persons, on how to defend themselves
• Master Aronson is now a certified Continuing Education provider for the Texas Real Estate Commission, teaching awareness and safety programs to realtors, agents, and apartment managers as well as wellness programs to corporate entities.
• During non-martial arts time periods, Mr. Aronson has a MBA in Finance, BA in International Economics and Finance, is Lean certified, and is currently a Management Consultant helping companies devise transformational processes to bring efficiencies, change management, and optimization to corporate functionality
