Janson has been studying Yang style Tai Chi, Shum Ying Jow Northern Eagle Claw, and Northern Long Fist for eight years. He is one of Sifu Michael Aronson’s senior organic students. Janson had lower spine surgery in December of 2015 for two herniated disks. In 2016, he began training in the martial arts and, with the guidance of Sifu Aronson, made an astounding recovery. Janson fully believes that without Sifu’s instruction paired with regular practice, he would suffer from chronic, debilitating back pain. As a senior student, Janson assists with the teaching of principles, concepts, forms, and applications while under the tutelage of Master Aronson.

Janson began competing in tournaments in 2018. In seven tournaments, he has collected 41 medals; 24 of them are gold. Also, at the Houston World Star Tournaments of 2021 & 2023, he won the Tai Chi Grand Champion trophies for his age division at the advanced level. He continues to assist Sifu Aronson teaching beginning students while representing the highest quality in weapons, forms, and fighting acumen.
